Band-Aid Scale of Home Repair
Have you ever needed a Band-Aid while doing a home repair project? Does it seem like some projects give you more then others? Have you ever wondered how involved a repair project is?
Is it a
or a
Then you've come to the right place.
I've done a lot of home improvement projects over the years. There were a few key things I've learned:1) some projects look easy but are very difficult2) some projects look difficult but are very easy3) Some projects give you more band-aids than others
This is why I have developed the Band-Aid Scale of Home Repair.
This is a simple ranking scale that will help you quickly tell how intense a project can be.
I've based this scale off of a variety of factors.
I've taken into account:how 'technical' the project ishow 'labor intensive' the projecthow long it takes to complete the projectis it something one person can do or do you need helpWhat are the risks associated with the projectetc.
Once I factor in these things, you come up with the:Band-Aid Scale of Home Repair.
Obviously, over the years, we've completed numerous projects. We've only listed a few projects here to help give you an idea and benchmark for your projects.
Make sure you are part of my monthly newsletter where I'll highlight some of the other projects I've completed, projects from members just like you as well as what projects I'm currently working on and the Monthly Maintenance Guide. Simply fill in the information below.
Is your project a relative simple project?
Check it out! If it ranks as a 1-2-3 on the Band-Aid scale of Home Repair then it is relatively simple and something you should be able to accomplish in a few minutes to an afternoon.
Is your project a more in depth project?
Check it out! If it ranks as a 4-5-6 on the Band-Aid Scale of Home Repair then it is probably more involved a project that you might want some help with. These projects will probably take an afternoon to complete.
Is your project a complex project?
Check it out! If it ranks as a 7-8-9 or a 10 on the Band-Aid Scale of Home Repair then put a fresh box of band-aids on your materials list. These projects will definitely require help and can take anywhere from an afternoon to several days or even weeks (depending on the amount of time you have available).
